Look at each term in the polynomial and pick out the highest factor for each.

constants:

40, -16 and -20. Highest factor is 4

x:

x^8, x^3 and x^6. Highest factor is x^3

y:

y^8, y^6 and y^4. Highest factor is y^4

The term taking out front, then, should be 4x^3y^4

Doing so gives you 4x^3y^4(10x^5y^4 - 4y^2 - 5x^3)
