Dems, conservatives, lefties, righties, *all* politicians do not care about us. They don't really care about the people, they *all* want more for them and less for us. There is no such thing as a perfect system of government, if you give people it *will* be corrupt. Greed and self preservation is too powerful.
Every person in power or office is playing the same game, they are just using different strategies. In the case of the United States, our leaders are controlled by corporate owners who lobby, corporate owners pay the leaders to not care, it goes against their interest. it isn't going to change.
Dictators use fear mongering, Religious rulers employ God, we lobby. They don't care about us, they want the rich to get richer because they are the rich.
Can we get over this illusion, that our government cares about us? Please? Can we all agree on this at least?

It seems that the incumbents just keep getting voted back in - irregardless of their performance or voting records. This is simply the fault of the electorate - people who vote straight tickets regardless, people who don't vote at all and people who just don't give a damn. Our representatives ARE accountable to the voters - but only as long as the voters pay a little attention to just who these representatives are really representing - and take the time to flex a little control in the voting booths.
Sad really - because the representatives bank on our apathy and indifference.
