No not everyone..to me it seems they(mayans) know that a catastrophic event will happen..most likely a comet or meteor will hit the earth....They were known to be math geniusus and because not all their language has been interpreted and their whole culture vanished with most of their writings. and predictions.... most of the population they knew existed were to be destroyed...but because man is resilient and effective in survival...we will once again prevail on top of the food chain.

"They" say the ancient Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012. "They" also say that Nostradamus predicted WW III in 2012 which would result in an apocalypse. Historians cannot tell you about the future. You'd need a crystal ball for that.

No, we were all supposed to die in 2000, then 2001. Besides what do historians know about the future? After all, they are historians, not furtorians!

No it won't, life will go on. That's like saying the dinosaurs died from a big asteroid, humans evolved from monkeys, aliens are out to kill everything created, and lochness monster lives. It's all either very hard to test, or untestable.

No people have predicted crap like that all the time. I know about the Myan calander but that's not how it works. you should be more specific about what historians say.

I don't know when anyone will die. I try to live one day at a time instead of dreaming up something to worry about years down the road.

Well if we all die in 2012 there will be no historians.
The world was going to end in 2000 and whole bunch of other dates.
I just work on one day at time.

exactly there is the theroy of nostrdameis were we all die from a gigantic meteor in december 21, 2012 but i doubt it will happen

I've heard that the Maya prophesize that the world will end on December 21, 2012. I seriously doubt it, we have already passed many days that were supposedly the end. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
