oh my gosh! when I got home from work today, my 13 year old daughter suprised me with her lip piercing! I told her she could not get it done and she said OK. But she did it anyway! I have to admit, it looks pretty cute. What should I do??? My husband (suprisingly) didn't care. How should I punish her?

we are saving her boyfriends life! is family was extreamly abusive. when he lived with them, if he cried, they would beat him. he had drug problems and was suicidle. AND no, they are not having sex! they are straight edge. oh, my husband but my daughter on birth control just in case.

Yeah. That's real effing cute. You will probably be a grandmother by the end of next year.
How about stop letting YOUR CHILD run thangs, and put your foot in her @$$, stop trying to be her FRIEND and be her PARENT.
Edit:Straight edge or not, your daughter's boyfriend does NOT need to be living with you. In such an extreme circumstance, it probably would have been better to see if one of your friends or other family members could put him up.
As far as the lip piercing, cute or not, she went behind your back to do it. MAKE HER TAKE IT OUT, and take away some privileges. Internet, phone-whatever she acts like she has to have every day. I am sure it does look cute. It will look just as cute when she turns 18 and can get it done LEGALLY. Chances are, it will probably get infected anyway. Seriously, put your foot down. If you don't, you will regret it.

First off, not at ALL funny how everyone is either making a joke out of this, or calling you a bad parent.
I think it is amazing that you are doing this for her boyfriend!
She definitely needs to be grounded.
You should talk it over with your husband, about how long she should be punished, and to figure out whether or not she should be allowed to keep it. Maybe talk that over with your daughter too.

lol, are you a grandma yet? oh, i thought you were being sarcastic! in that case, kick the boyfriend out and rip the piercing out of her lip! you gotta gain your control back! regardless, you gotta get some control back with your daughter. doesn't the b.f. have any other family? i mean, thats a little young to be having B.F/G.F. Sounds like you have a lot more problems than the piercing! good luck! (ps, i think your family could go on jerry springer! )

these other peeps are *******.........what you should do is to talk with your husband (which MCRchick and The Black is the Kiss wrote before me), and see what you guys are going to do with your daughter, but if he still doesn't care just leave it how she is cause sooner or later she will have to take it off for some reason

well first of all i think your a very nice mom. i think its kind of you of what your doing to help her boyfriend. umm i think you should ground her just because she showed no respect and disobeyed your authority, but yeah talk it over with your husband so you both are a team and no one is the bad/mean parent
