"Double taxation" seems to be the norm in this country - and would not be a valid reason to abolish the tolls.
For example, Maine has a $2 state tax on a pack of cigarettes - and when someone purchases a pack, they pay the 5% sales tax on the entire amount - which simply amounts to taxing the tax. Ditto for the inheratance tax - money which the deceased wage earner has already paid tax on - and now it's the beneficiary of the inheratance turn to pay again.
Independent truck drivers pay enormous taxes on their rigs - and they get thanked by paying again with dramatically increased tolls based usually on the number of axels on their rigs.
You know the ol' saying - "........death and taxes"

You fail to provide any support for your assertion that it is double taxation. Funny, I'm usually for anything that lowers taxes. Must be something about your abrasive style that has put me on the fence, but if you can provide some substantive information in this one instance, I might be for it!

For states which have no income tax, no. Toll roads are an important source of revenue for those states.

its cheaper to pay taxes and have safe uncongested roads than sitting in bumper to bumper wasting gas...
I was reading an article and it said people waste $800 worth of gas sitting in traffic annually...
