the light on the mouse works. and the lights on the keyboard flash when i start the computer but after that they wont work. can someone please help me

If they are fully plugged in, maybe you have a hub and it's overloaded. Try removing everything else - microphone, cameras, external hard drives, printer, scanner. I have problems when the kids plug in i-pods, but restarting the pc should have solved the problem.

Try re-installing the software that came with the keyboard and mouse. If you have an older computer that isn't plug and play the software may be corrupted.

As already suggested, try another mouse and keyboard.

If none of that works, then something may be physically damaged.

Agree with forty licks - Mouse and keyboard don't work but you can still post on the internet? Hmmmmmmmmm. I look on with interest to the ansswers you get.

check the `plugs` for mouse and keyboard are pushed firmly in.if they are and still not working , take them out check no dust etc in sockets ,retry.can you borrow friends mouse /key board to check comp ok.hope this helps

If turning everything off and back on doesn't work, then your computer is broken. Call a repairman.

thins doesn't help, but if your keyboard doesn't work, how'd you type this question, and if your mouse doesn't work, the how'd you get on the internet?!
