Arranged marriage?

I feel all marriages are arranged marriages, some by ourselves, some by friends & relaives, some by parents.
Whichever marriages work & last long are preferable to short-lived marriages.
Anyhow, I'm for love-marriages!

Having lived in the Orient, most of the marriages that I knew of were arranged. It was difficult to tell how happy or compatible they were, because they never discussed personal matters with a westerner. I noted however, that many of the men, especially those who could afford it, had a girlfriend stashed away someplace.

I personally don't agree with it. My parents' marriage was arranged. Since I am Indian, that is common among Indian marriages for that to happen. I personally don't agree with it, I prefer to find someone myself.

I think it sucks.. WhaT righT does anyone have to puT up wiTh that is beyond me. I think it should be beTween those involved to accepT their love withouT outside help. Parents arranging marriages between 2 folks that dont love each other. Its way beyond my belief.I would haTe to think I was arranged to live with someone I detested let alone know.

I don't condone it....b/c its not up 2 ppl 2 decide who should get married unless it is themselves.....I do approve of it only if the 2 that are betrothed want 2 be together
