Yeah, you'll survive. You'll be the most poor in your first year but then it'll get better.

Don't worry about the gas and electric; the weather's so mild you don't use your heater/air conditioner all that much, so I don't think that's anything to be concerned about.

Housing is the most expensive thing here but again the longer you're here the better you'll figure that out.

If you want to own the big house on the hill, yeah then life will be rough, you'll always be struggling. But if you are ok with a modest place you won't go broke, and you'll have a great time. The beaches are free, lot's of great microbreweries here, people are nice and usually happy.

Food is less expensive here than other places because of our close proximity to the central valley and Imperial Valley agricultural regions.

Relax, it'll be fine.

It all comes down to what you do for a living. A couple facts to work with.

1. San Diego has the highest Gas prices in California.
2. Rent is High and Real Estate is equally inflated.
3. The Traffic here is getting worse, because too many people wanting to move here, they are buying homes further out of town (where it's more affordable). This makes the traffic and commute worse each year, then throw on the traffic coming from Mexico that exponentially adds to the congestion... This is why San Diego SUCKS!!!

They say the world is your oyster, I'll just say our oysters are usually not safe to eat.
