Republicans on Thursday tried to turn a controversial
anti-war newspaper ad against Democratic presidential
candidates Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama
after neither voted to condemn it.

The Senate voted 72-25 to pass a resolution condemning
a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Gen. David Petraeus, the
commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, as "Gen. Betray Us."
The liberal group's full-page ad appeared last week in
The New York Times.

Clinton voted against the measure; Obama did not vote.

Among the presidential hopefuls, Republicans Sens.
John McCain of Arizona and Sam Brownback of Kansas
voted for the resolution sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn,
R-Texas. Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut
voted against it.

Obama, Clinton and Dodd voted for an alternative
resolution offered minutes earlier by Sen. Barbara Boxer,
D-Calif. That resolution condemned political attack ads,
including those that questioned the patriotism of Sen.
John Kerry, D-Mass., and former Sen. Max Cleland,
D-Ga., both Vietnam veterans. It failed 50-47.

I doubt it. They are an independent political activist group supported by over 3 million people. They acquired 15,000 new members due to the General Petraeus ad and a half million $ in donations. They have people vote on the issues that they want them to work on constantly. I'm sure there will still be issues no matter who wins the election. Hillary isn't any part of Moveon.

As long as George Bush is pissed off at MoveOn, I hope they stick around for a very long time!

We've had to put up with the likes of Limbaugh for over a decade now. It's time for some effective counter attacks against the neo-cons.

As long as it means that the Republicans will have to go away from the White House, I don't care.

I hope not. The fact that they bug some people (you?) is the reason we need them.

No !!! Hi-liar-y gets her marching orders from M.O.O. ! If she is President , she will be President by "Proxy" ; M.O.O. will be the President with Hi-liar-y catering to M.O.O.`s agenda . If Hi-liar-y is so afraid of M.O.O. now , just imagine what a bastion of courage she will be as president against terrorist ? Little do the supporters of M.O.O. know that if it weren`t for the US Military , they wouldn`t be free to spread their non-sense. Also: If you think Health Care is expensive now , just wait until Hi-liar-y gives it to you for free !!!
