Honesty may be the best policy, but it’s important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

Georgie RULES... and his quote is spot on, because he leaves no choice.
He also said "never eat food served out of a window unless you're a seagull" and I live by that...since I heard it. Now I go INTO the fast food joints to get my grub.

It's the old play on words and choice between only two options. Two people compete, one wins, the other loses, or comes in second, or places last, or doesn't win.
Honesty is the best policy, so the onlyother choice comes in second, or loses, or places last, or is second best choice.

But George Carlin is still one of the funniest of a certain generation. Airplane flights: take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory!

I believe in truth and honesty, but in the last few months, I asked myself for the first time what the purpose of truth and honesty is. I was kind of shocked by this realization, because I then saw that everything must be put in context--specifically, in the context of the Reproductive Mandate: We are here not just to make babies, but to bring offspring to maturity.
We follow well-defined stages in this: Mating, Bonding (which employs dodging--feinting--dishonesty), Nesting and "Breeding".

Isn't it about time we saw and put our lives in context again and regained a sense of real meaning in our lives?

If there are only 2 policies, then dishonesty is also the worst policy!

I agree with a part of it. "Honesty is the BEST policy." It is the first, second and third or whatever number there is.
