I have a 10 litter tank and I want to know if it will bother the fish if the speaker is right next to it.

Only if you are blasting the base. Playing music at normal volume with normal bass should not affect the fish as long as it is NOT when the tank is dark and the fish are resting. The constant vibrations will stress resting fish, leading to darting. Test it out at normal volumes in the day, and see how your fish react. If they begin to violently dart for cover or across the glass (or even worse, attempt to jump), I would move your speaker.

EDIT: Sound is vibrations, so to say that the sound won't bother them, but the vibrations might, makes no sense.

EDIT: Sound moves slowest through air, not water. Air is less densly packed, making it more difficult for sound to travel. Sound travels most quickly through solids, like glass, and water is in the middle.

I think that sound moves slowest through water.

For example, think about being in a pool... you are underwater.... can you hear music that is being played next to the pool? I dont think I can.

Just move the speaker or the tank over bit. If the fish arent going to that side of the tank than it might be a problem.

Yes, the vibration of the speaker would make your fish go nuts. It's like you having turning up the volume on your TV to 100%.

It depends on the kind of music. Soft, soothing music at low volume would be great. Loud, blaring music, no good.

The sound will not affect them but the vibrations might. Could upset them a little and make them act wierd.
