where can i find melamine plates that kids can design & be able to use or have as keepsakes? Prefer in Aust?

Every Make-A-Plate site I can find sells the art materials for the child to produce the art work on special paper that is then sent to the company where it is applied to the plate.

I find no instructions or indication that you can apply art work directly to a plate yourself. There are probably health concerns to watch out for.
