I know you will say to break up, but I wanted to know if there was anything else I might be able to do?

No because you will regret it in the long run. I kept feeling I love this man what can I do to change him but you know what he only changes you. You love him and love him with all of your being and you change yourself to make him happy but that is never good enough. Eventually your mind will start to go, your confidence will leave and you will be left not knowing what to do with yourself. To leave is an understatement to disappear is more of what needs to be done. It's not you it's really him but he will always make you feel like it is you so just try to start weening yourself away slowly and get some help to rebuild who you are.

quit being a weenie and stand up for yourself. Other than breaking up you have to learn to respect yourself otherwise he/she won't either. Stop bad behavior in its tracks. The moment something is said that you don't like, let the other person know that that type of behavior will not be tolerated.
They may laugh or try to play it off, but they will instantly feel shitty because you now have a backbone. Stay tough and persistent.

You can't change another person's behavior. If you don't like your living situation (and I would not want to be abused either) you really need to find a way to leave.
there is no behavior, including doing whatever he says, that will make him love you enough to stop.
