BY LAW INSURANCE COMPANIES CANNOT CONSIDER PREGNANCY A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION! I know this for a fact! I am 37 weeks pregnant and my insurance did not start until I was 16 weeks along! That did NOT stop me from taking care of my baby! Use any excuse that you like..... The truth of the matter is that an insurance company cannot consider it a pre-existing condition. Did you think that they would not figure out in November if you were a couple of months along that you were already pregnant???? C'mon! Be a RESPONSIBLE adult and go to a free clinic or your local health dept... Which by the way is COMPLETELY CONFIDENTIAL..... How in the world would the insurance company ever find out that you went??? You are FULL of it! Go find out if you are pregnant and take care of your child! OH AND BY THE WAY... IF YOU GET A POSITIVE PREGNANCY TEST MEDICARE/MEDICADE HAS TO TAKE YOU AND COVER YOU AND YOUR BABY BY LAW! THEY CANNOT TURN YOU AWAY.... SO WHATEVER!
Very Best Wishes!

I know you've stated you have no insurance just yet, but the costs of covering a baby that has been neglected the right of prenatal care is going to be WAY more expensive than if you just go in and get a blood test done. Do you really want your child to lie in a NICU just because you were too cheap to go get a blood test done? Go to Planned Parenthood if you can't afford to go to your regular doctor. There are several things you can do without insurance, and I don't think the fact you have no insurance at this time is a good excuse to be depriving your baby (if you are in fact pregnant) of good care. Your best chances of having a healthy baby are by taking care of yourself in the first 3 months of the pregnancy. No one can tell you what "percentage" of a chance it is that you are in fact pregnant. Speaking as someone who is currently 27 weeks pregnant myself, you sound like you are. I'm sorry you don't have insurance right now, but please, for the sake of yourself and possibly your unborn baby, go to a free clinic or Planned Parenthood and get a test done. I know they will advise on what you can do from that point.

Good luck.

I don't know what all this stuff about insurance is. in America are u basically screwed if u do not have insurance??? in australia, insurance is important but only if you are having elective surgery etc. good old Medicare covers everything from blood tests, ultrasounds and even giving birth.
im sorry to tell u but babies are very expensive. and if you cant be bothered spening a little bit of money for your own and babys health, then what sort of mother will u make?
america's health system sounds like it needs a lot of work if pregnant women will not go to the doctors because lack of 'insurance'

Are your periods always on time? I would call a doctors office and find out what the most sensitive pregnancy tests are and try one of those. There are also free places you can go to get tested , hope you get your answer soon .

edit
So if you are seen at a free clinic that might jeopardize your insurance ?

sounds like you are. however sorry to tell you this but your insurance will probably still not cover the pregnancy. even though you didn't take the test until after the insurance came they will count back to see when you concieved and they more than likely won't pay for it. good luck.

There's planned parenthood and free clinics for now, then go see a private OBGYN when you get your insurance.
