Its late and still have to think about some spelling activities this week. I know some good ideas, but need something to keep a group occupied independently without much of an input.. Something different. Have used 'wordsearches' and they are good at making their own, but there must be a good book with some other interesting activities already prepared!

The only way to teach spelling of the language is to write it properly! The only way to teach the pronunciation of the language is to speak it properly! There are no "rules"! The answer to your question is therefore "No". (If any f***wit comes up with "i" before "e" except after "c" please hunt him down with a shooting rifle. It will be far less painful than what I will do to him/her)

We use a programme called Starspell on the computer, it is fantastic and the kids love it!
