I have been out of my old relationship for about a year and some months now but I can't seem to give my new man the benefit of the doubt. We have been together for 8 months. First of all let me say that I am a few years older than my male friend I am 28 and he will be 21 in October of this year but he is very mature for his age and that's why when we first met I thought he was older. I keep feeling like I need to let him go because of the age difference I have lived my life and he has barely seen his. At his age he has already helped me get my own place he has gotten my car fixed and does so many wonderful things for me. I have never heard of him cheating on me like my ex did and he is very respectful out in public he makes me feel like I am the only woman in his eyes. I just keep waiting for the day when things will change and I will get my heart broken and he will find someone younger and prettier. I must admit my last relationship left me with no self confidence. What to do?

You should stop worrying. Age shouldn't be a problem seems he's acting more mature than most 30yr old men. I've been thru something quite similar. I started dating a guy 12yrs younger than me, and he treats me like a queen, opens doors, helps me around the house, everything, My last relationship left me with low self esteem...talking about a boost! I used to think the same way, but I had to stop...and that's what you should do. Take it one day at a time, and enjoy yourself. Stop looking for him to leave, and don't let your low self esteem be the reason. All men are not the same, and there are some good ones out there. If they happen to be younger than us....WE WIN! Good Luck.

I feel almost as though your 21 and he's 28. Just because one man did you wrong doesnt mean every single one will. Your worried about age diffrence?? Confidence comes from within we cant give you that, you cant buy that. What matters is YOU are his girl his woman, not Bambi, trampy, and candi. As far as confidence goes, dont you feel you deserve and are worthy of a good man? Have you sat back and analized your great qualities. Start to see yourself as all your friends, and family and man who truly care about you do. Im sure they see you for the beautiful great person you which is precisely how you should see yourself!

i think you need to talk to him, and tell him everything that your worried about. maybe once you do, you wont worry so much, cuz he would have eased some of the questions that are going off in your head.
as for finding someone prettier (not nessesarily younger) is something all girls are worrying about, cuz guys dont really have a great track record in general for going out and finding greener pastures.

but your guys sounds like a keeper, despite his age he was raised right and knows how to treat you the way you should be treated. =)

you know that communication and friend ship are first and then love if you feel that way sit down and talk to him and just take one day at a time. i knew several people who had similar problems and bigger age difference and they are still married and happy take care.
