surely its preaching to the converted wouldnt it be more sensible to put them on illigal copies instead of forcing mugs who buy licenced dvds to sit through them

And aren't they irritating? The sensible place to put them would be on TV commercials - ideally in the middle of films whose sequels are currently on at the cinema
- but that would add to costs (and take away from profits); whereas tagging them onto the spare DVD capacity of a pathetically short feature film costs zilch.
If I were making pirate DVDs, I think I would consider putting a spoof one on it. "Do you really want to stand in a sweaty queue for ages, pay ridiculous prices for popcorn and fizzy drinks, only to watch a film on a screen with an annoying little rip right in the middle of it? Watch now, in the comfort of your own home..."

Well, the person that's making the pirate copies has to get it from a legal copy. How else are they going to make the pirated copy? Just a thought...

the people who make pirate copies are hardly going to bother with anti pirate adverts are they. it kinda defeats the purpose of the whole thing

how would you put them on bootleg movies? its not like they person thats bootleggin them is gonna take them to a buildin or factory to put that on there, because that would get them arrested, AND it wouldnt happen because people who deal illegal copies want it to keep goin on, so they can keep makin money.... its a good idea, but it wont happen
