His athletic ability is not under question.
His ability to score has been proven time and again.
Turn your head for a second and he may have picked your pocket.

But would you build a championship cailbre squad around the guy?
Does he make his team mates better?
Does he lack the work ethic - Im talking about practice - to be an NBA champion?
Can he have a positive effect on the chemistry or his team?

Im an Iverson fan, but I am not sure the guy is really a 'WINNER'. He was kept of team USA, for one reason or another. He doesnt like to practice; and while he may not need to practice, it wouldnt hurt to set an example for his less gifted teammates.

Aren't their 20 other guys in the leage youd rather have?

I actually like your question. Yes there is a huge list of guys we could take instead of AI and I believe him not winning the ring has a lot to do with his bone headedness but he was young and stupid. I think him paired with Melo is a bigger threat to the big 3 of the west than any other team. If those 2 are on their game they can light up the score board. AI just needs to be a leader now rather than do everything him self. He needs to have faith in his team mates.

P.S. AI is a legend and a future hall of famer hand down

They're both extremely talented players and both them actually rank on my top ten of players currently active in the league but the choice is easy, Iverson. I think their skills go beyond their PPG for the season, or really statistics. This season Ray Allen will out score Iverson in PPG, but Iverson will mean more to his team this season. Allen Iverson is an extremely versatile guard who can effectively penetrate, shoot and score on just about anybody off his crossover dribble whenever he wants and whenever he needs too. Careerwise, statistics even favor him, he has the third highest PPG career average behind only the legends Wilt The Stilt and MJ. And yeah, you can bet your money that he does his job as a point guard. Ray Allen has one of the purest shots of all time, one that Iverson can't touch but all-around, Iverson is a better player in my opinion. If you knew a litte something about Iverson and a little something about Allen then you'd know that Iverson would win in a one-on-one pick-up game against Ray Allen.

He is a former NBA regular season MVP. 2-time All-Star MVP. Carried his team on his small back to lift them to the Finals on 2001. He's a winner.

In 2001, the Sixers went to the Finals with a relatively unknown crew (only Dikembe was notable of that squad). Isn't that "setting an example for his less gifted teammates"? He was injured from head to foot and fought off those injuries just to carry all of them to the Finals.

I'm guessing that your a Sixers fan. Iverson would have stayed there if he was given a crew that can compete in a very high level. In all fairness to the Sixers they tried but still ended with a sorry crew, that is when Iverson had enough demanded a trade to go elsewhere. See the wasted prime is enough now he wants to play for a championship caliber squad and maybe win for himself an NBA trophy which every NBA player dreams to covet...

Hope this helps.

i think he is a very very good player. i disagree with him not wanting and having the desire to practice b/c he developed his skills through hours and hours of practise to get where he is. i do think however that he takes too many difficult shots and shoots too low of a percentage.

Hes too good. You just see the outside, but when it matters, he gives his team everything he's got, and plays with his heart. Philly was just too sukky, but i hope he gets his chance with melo.
