my daughter is 7 months old, going to be 8 months on the 5th of october.. she is a smart baby and her doctor said her development is faster than the rate of an average 7 month old.. well now she is pulling herself up on EVERYTHING and wants to walk holding on to your hands constantly.. however once & a while she will let go of one hand and walk holding on with only the other hand.. how long would you guess she would start walking???

shes been crawling for almost 3 months, she's been standing with very good support at not even 2 months of age and she's been sitting on her own since she was 5 months old

My daughter is the same, she has been pulling herself to a stand using my hands since she was 9 weeks and walking holding hands for 1 month and sitting since 5 months, she is 6months now. She goes for gold in her walker she is so quick, i have to put her in it cos she wants to walk all the time. She isnt pulling herself up on anything yet, and hasnt crawled because she hates to lay down. The baby nurse told me she probably wont crawl and will walk between 9 -10 months old. She has tummy time but it only last about 10mins before she wants to sit up again. So maybe she will be about 9 -10 months also.

Our daughter walked at 8.5 months of age. She is 13 months now and runs!
Our son started to walk at 8 months, fell forward and never tried again until he was 12 months.
It depends on the baby. Yours will probably walk faster because she already is ahead. I wouldn't push her though. I didn't with mine either. When they walked, they walked. I was more concerned with social development or speech- babies who develop fast in one area tend to lack the others. She did fine though.
Good luck!

It could be very soon, especially if she doesn't have a hard landing or something to set her back. It's a shame to cut the period of crawling short, as she could learn coordination from that, but she will walk when she's ready. One of my daughters gave up crawling at barely 9 months, and went almost immediately to running.

Give her a1-3 months. Babies will do that, have a developmental 'surge' than slow down again. Don't be disappointed if she doesn't start walking alone for a while longer, it's totally normal!

DB read somewhere that after 1000 hours of practice they can walk.
For now, you could get a bit of relief by getting her a push toy. Walking around stooped over can be awfully hard on your back and thighs!

Some kids will start walking very soon after that, others will stay at that spot for months. Every kid is different...you'll know when she suddenly takes off one day. :)
