Also I'm not saying it's bad but it seems to be concentrated in Chicagoland. I've been to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, DC, and some other smaller metros and Chicago is by far the most hectic, while San Francisco is also pretty bad too.

I actually like Chicago-style driving though. Even tried it in Minnesota til I got a wreckless driving charge (later dropped) for passing someone on the right going 75 in a 55

we're all in a hurry to get nowhere... it's the truth.

I moved outta the city for a few and showed my "Chicago" driving off in a very small country town... while i was there they all thought i was nuts..... and everyone kept saying.... "you drive like your from Chicago!" (I'm very proud of that) :-}

You wrong. NYC is by far the most hectic driving I've been in. Cab cutting through three lanes of traffic in midtown without even looking, people doing 70 on three lane highways, etc. Never been driving in LA but between the almost daily police chases caught on helicoptor camera and the traffic jams in the middle of nowhere, I'm guessing it's pretty bad. People don't do 95 or 100 on chicago highways on a regular basis. Notsure where you were, but the only time that happens is on the expressways late Saturday nights when guys are trying to test their cars or motorcycles or running from the cops.

Its very true. Its just how we drive. Everyones drives aggressive so when you learn to drive you learn to drive that way. I dont know. Ive been out of town and people get really mad at the way I drive, but oh well, i love it hear!! Except for the traffic.

I agree with LG, you've apparently never been to New England. They have a whole different set of driving rules.

It's no different than anywhere else. At least Chicagoans are nicer than LA drivers. I speak from experience.
