I live in Tennessee...is it illegal for department stores to have cameras or two way mirrors in the dressing room? like in the actual stall that you are changing in? I was wondering because today I was in the dressing room at belk, and I noticed that the mirror looked funny, well, it happened to be a door!! and inside were 2 stools that said "Loss Prevention" and it was big enough for people to sit in, i looked all around, and it has vents and a big hole leading up to the ceiling of the store, it looked like a place where "spys" would be??.... What do you all think?

i think i would contact a newspaper and never shop there again , boycotts are the only way a place like that will change.

and there probably are privacy's laws about it somewhere , but they probably got around it by informing you about it.

is that place offering such great things that you have to shop there.

I think you are being paranoid. It is most illegal to have surveillance in dressing rooms. Even Walmart (who has the best security around) uses humans to check how many outfits you take into a dressing room. If you could prove that they have any type of surveillance in dressing rooms, you could own your Belks store.

Quite frankly, it is probably legal. I don't agree with it, but it is probably legal in TN.
