For some unknown reason there are areas or a kidney stone belt in the USA. The people in those areas are more likely to get kidney stones. Common kidney stones are calcium based but eliminating milk from your diet etc. won't help. What does help is to not get dehydrated so your urine isn't concentrated. Drink plenty of water. One of the latest recommendations is to drink a glass of lemonade (real not the fake kind) every day. The citric acid in the lemons helps prevent the kidney stones. I had my first kidney stone when I was 20, then again at 40, and again this year. It is a horrible experience. My sister in law had them also.
