Accreditation tends to be regional, and must be renewed periodically.

Read the literature put out by the school to find out which organization accredits them. If it is not on their catalog you can write or call the school. In order to be doubly safe write or call the accrediting organization

There are a number of accrediting agencies depending i\n part the area of th country that the school is in and the different subjects or schools that are part of the University.

I have heard of Temple and know that it has a number of Schools, about 30,00 students and has a large percentage of it staff hold a Ph.D. I think that it is a reliable school but suggest that you check anyways.

Most reputable universities post information on their accreditation on their web sites. The Wikipedia entry for those schools also indicates its accreditation.

Public universities in the US will be accredited. Temple is a state university and has a good reputation. It is the third best public university in Pennsylvania -- after Penn State and Pittsburgh.
