My daughters father did the same thing to me. Didn't want anything to do with not only me but his child anymore. (He was cheating anyways) But when my daughter was 6 months old, he tried coming back into her life.. I let him because he had always paid child support.. but two months later he abandoned her again and this time stopped paying. When my daughter was 2 he tried coming around again and this time i was NOT having it. I was not going to let him come in and out of her life. Its not good for your daughter. Its just going to hurt her in the end especially since he isn't helping you raiser her anyways. I would tell him, catch up on child support, prove you want to be in her life permanently and then you can talk about it. But before then.. take it to court and get full custody. He left her once.. dint let it happen again. He doesn't deserve her.

Uncertain as to how the laws operate where you live or age of chiild. Do believe that if he brings it before the courts that they will make their judgement on the best welfare of the child. He will probably be held responsible for supporting this little girl if he wants to act as her parent now. Speak with a good lawyer and find out in family law what your daughter and your rights are before agreeing or disagreeing to any form of visitation etc. Best of luck to you.

You shouldn't try to stop it i am 46 year old and just found out who my father was about 7 year ago and believe me it is not a good thing to keep a father from a child. Mine died about a year ago so i lost out , but i lost all those years i didn't know also.

you need to find a lawyer to discus what right you hav and he has... you might b able to get full custody but that still means he can see her every other weekend, unless you can prove its in your daughters best interest not to see/know him
