i want to do good in high school..im a freshman. any ideas how to do good in school and with sports.. i also want to get into a good college like USC. should i start doentg extra stuff do have a better chance of getting in?? like sports and comunity service and grade and all that stuff....

Basically, it's simple: you HAVE to get good grades now. These grades are accounted into your permanent report card. Mess up now, and you're screwed. One MAJOR mistake many people do is to start getting a girlfriend/boyfriend, care about popularity, and all that. It ain't gonna help you when you're applying for a college. Start prepping for the SATs in 9th grade, SAT II in 10th grade, and SAT II and APs in the 11th grade, and APs in the final year. Don't mess up, and hang in there!

i am a freshman too!
well just try hard and do all your work.
then, make sure you do some extra stuff. colleges like well rounded kids. do a sport and band or chorus or art and some community service
and if you do sports make sure you have enough time for your homework. let your work come first. don't make your schedule to busy. because if you stay up late doing work you might be tired and then not do as well on tests and stuff
when you have tests study. start studying in advance. do your homework in case you have a pop quiz

Just pay attention and come to class on time and ask for help when ever you need it. If the teacher doesn't want to help you with your work, just get a tutor after school or something, it will be really easy if you do that.
