I don't know, but I've heard any cattle calls for modeling are fake and make it impossible to achieve a career. I thank God I am a virgin to all of these convention type things. They left a lot of people I've known high and dry.

Thousands of aspiring models submit themselves to Ford and other BIG agencies. The scouts at Ford do not have the time to send notes of regret to those they do not want to pursue as talent.
If you want to pursue a career as a model start with a smaller agency in your local city. Just be sure the agency is a SAG franchised agency. Those agencies agree to certain standards that protect their talent. Agencies that do not have agreements with SAG or AFTRA tend to be shady.
Also DO NOT pay to play. If an agency asks for money up front, RUN from their door. Legitimate agencies will not try and sell you photographs or sell you classes. Take classes from legitimate instructors and get your photos done from independent photographers. Many college students need models for their projects and you could build your portfolio by helping aspiring photographers build theirs.
Many shady operators exploit the dreams of naieve aspiring models by selling them worthless classes and high priced useless photographs. That's what's meant by "high and dry".
Can you even be SURE the website you submitted to is the REAL FORD AGENCY in New York? You can be anybody on the web.
