i am going to do a system recovery on my computer, and I want to know what should I do before i start it, for example saving files or programs. it says in the manual to use recovery discs, but i dont know what that does or what it is for. and i want to know if I have important files and pictures on my computer can I just save them on a floppy or do I have to have a recovery disc?


also do recovery dics come with your computer or do u have to buy them yourself?

First you'd want to back up all your important documents, files, pictures, etc. You can use a burner drive, or if you know how, create a 2nd partition on your hard drive, and backup everything to the 2nd partition. Once you've backed up everytying you want to keep, then you can do your recovery. Secondly, depending on where you got your computer from, it may or may not come with a recovery / system restore disc. You'd know if it did as it would have been with the computer. If not, try contacting the manufacturer of the computer (HP, Dell, etc) for one, though you may have to pay a nominal shipping fee.
