Yeah, that sounds about right to me. I started mixing a small amount of cereal in my daughter's formula when she got to about 5-6 weeks old, just to help fill her up. The formula alone just didn't seem like it was enough! She was waking up more often because she was hungry. Once she started on cereal, it stayed with her a little bit longer.

there is no set amount that a baby will eat. each child is an individual. i started all of my kids on cereal at around a month and then cereal and fruit.(check with your doctor, of course)
i have one grandson that ate so sparingly that it made me nervous..today he is a very healthy 3 year old and eats! my other grandson, his brother, is 8 months old and my daughter is letting him have mashed potatoes , scrambled eggs, etc.
so, as i said, each child is an individual, and will let mom know how much or how little they need

Sure is. You won't be able to tell if he is doing well till his pediatrician checks his weight again. He has a pediatrician right???

well, its normal for him! At that rate, he won't be your lil boy much longer! It doesn't sound like you're breast feeding. Perhaps he'd be more satisfied with his mother's milk!
