If you have a lot of friends over than each take turns talking, and pretend you have multi-personalities.
Or if there is a little kid around, give the phone to them.
Put them on 'hold' and maybe sing a christmas carol really badly.

I used to be as dumb as you are, then I had to work for a telesurveying company once. Believe me I have heard them all. Most of the people who do those jobs don't have much choice though. It is a crappy job, but it is easy to get and pays the bills. Give these people a break. They are just trying to get by. They don't go down to Burger King and tell you how to do your job. So here's how it is. If you are really cool, you will humor them a little, but if you really don't want to hear from them again, just tell them "Take me off your list". Most places will never call you again if you tell them that.

I ignore approximately any call for the duration of meal cases. At different cases, while i'm no longer looking forward to a decision, I placed one finger on the "dangle up" button," raise the receiver and say no longer something. If there's a 2nd of lifeless air, I press the button. In different words, i do no longer say something to telemarketers - ever.

I have been a telemarketer and a job is a job when needs must. I always say "thank you very much for your call but I am not interested, I have done your job myself and know how tough it is. I wish you the best of luck with your next call. Have a good day!"

I always tell them that I'm the Nanny and do not have the authority to make any decisions then I say Have a Good Day and hang up!!

I usually don't answer the phone but if I do I hang up on them as soon as they start their speech.
