I personally think he is an awful coach. every team he coaches seems to turn into losers. The Raiders were a bad team and he made them an awful team. The Chargers had one of the best offenses last year. Now Tomlinson is only averaging 2 yards a carry. I think San Diego couldn't have made a worse choice for a head coach.

I was surpriesed when they hired him as head coach. He was terrible in Washington. Now he has taken a VERY good football team and turned them mediocre at best. Firing Schottenheimer was a huge mistake.

Absolutely, his latest debacle with the Chargers solidifies his place as possibly the worst coach in NFL history. I remember when Marty was let go and they hired Turner. It was one of the worst feelings I have ever had. This guy is not a head coach. He is a good offensive coordinator, but he does not have the ability to be the head coach. I think both Turner and A.J. Smith should be relieved of their duties with the Chargers immediately. Please Alex, the season can still be saved. Get rid of these two leeches and let's turn this season around.

I thought it was a joke when I heard they'd hired him... I wasn't a Marty fan or or a Marty hater, but you don't fire a coach because he can't win in the playoffs and replace him with a coach that can't win in the regular season.
Patsfan, Herm Edwards' record with the Jets was 39-41... the four Jets coaches prior to him were a combined 48-64, so it's not like he came into an organization with a tradition of excellence and screwed things up.

I think he is close. Turner is a great offensive coordinator...but he is a prime example of the peter principle. Maybe he should delegate all of the special teams and defense to assistant head coaches and basically coach offenses. I feel if he did that with LT, the Chargers would be something to watch.

I think the worst coach, was the one the Giants ha between Bill Parcells and, Jim Fassel...Ray Handley. Sad. He was only there for one season and, I still remember His name like a recurring nightmare. He took a Super Bowl winning team and, brought Them down hard. for training camp, He let L.T., play Golf. nobody was even ready to start the season.

I'd say the Chargers owner got what he deserved, Get rid of Marty for Norv. Yes he SUCKS and if he's not the worst he dam close. If you don't beleive me ask L.T. What kind of parent names their kid Norv ? A LOSER!

They shoulda taken Wade Phillips because he is tearing things up now. He definitely isnt the worst but he is high up there on the board.
