Okay well my boyfriend's birthday is coming up soon and I want to get him something like a video game but I don't know which one to get him. I know he likes video games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, Kingdom Hearts... ect. Any ideas?

I don't know whcih games he already has, but since you mentioned how well he likes Final Fantasy, Zelda, and Kingdom Hearts, I'm going to assume he already has all of those games. So I'll recommend a couple games I think he'll like.
Dragon Quest 8. This game is produced by the makers of Final Fantasy with another producer. It's a fun turn-based RPG. I'll include an IGN review so you can read about it yourself. They gave it a 9/10.

Dark Cloud 2. This is a fun action RPG with a targeting system similar to Zelda. Here is the IGN review (They gave it a 9/10.)

You can find these titles for about $20 each new, if you buy them used they would be even less.
I think he will really enjoy both of these game, I know I did.

Don't get him a video game please, do you really want to encourage this stuff, think about his REAL interests hobbies and stuff I'm sure you can think of something good or you can go for the : instead of giving a present as a give do something like through a party or something like that , still if you still want to give hima video game ( maybe as an extra thing?) you cold get guitar hero, or something easier like a second version ( that just came out) of one of the games you said

I wanted to get my boyfriend a video game but I did not know which, so I went to a store that sold used video games and got like five different kinds for fourty bucks. Just an idea, if you're not sure.

Humm, if he has a xbox 360 "Eternal Sonata" is supposed to be really good. It looks childish but the gameplay is supposed to be top notch.
