I have been searching online but I don't know what is realistic... From the amount of money I will need, to details about the Railpass, to how many countries I can realistically see ... I would like to see as many places as I can and then go back later in life to further explore everything ... if you are willing to help I will give you my email address or aim screenname ... thanks

Mr. Zwink has the right idea, but I would say, go to 2 capital cities and see 2 more small towns per country.
You can opt for all Western Europe, all Eastern Europe or a mix.
You can of course do a capital town per day, traveling overnight from one to the next, but you will not remember anything about them afterward.
That will be the this is Thursday so this is must be Rome kind of travel, not really enjoyable.

For the west you can expect to spend $ 100 to $ 300 per day using hostels, hotels will be more expensive still, the east is cheaper, but I do not know what it will cost.

for a 2 week trip i wouldnt visit more than 4 places, youll have 2-3 days in the samy city that way.

my advice would be to visit, amsterdam, berlin, paris and prague. as for the costs, i have no idea sorry. youre going to have to get in touch with a travel agency.
