MSNBC is usually where I get my news during the week. But, on weekends and late at night they do "To Catch a Predator" or investigative reports on murders or different prisons. Does anyone like me want just news 24/7?? :-))

The audience for such hours really is very, very small, and it's not worth the effort economically to broadcast fresh programming. None of the all-news stations do much from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on weekends for that reason. They go into other areas, such an interview shows, documentaries, reruns, etc.

Even Headline News on CNN gave up on nights, switching to Nancy Grace. It would be nice to have an alternative to her, but the figures don't work there either.

Even CNN does the occasional documentary or investigative report.
