which significantly resulted in the creation of a threat which never before existed, then why did the fundamentalists attack the twin towers?

Because there is a threat of terrorism, not just the created threat that you just mentioned, which did not exist before ("terrorists" in the now invaded/occupied country of Iraq, for example), but an existing threat of government sponsored terror, particularly from the current U.S. government, designed to manipulate people with fear, which is what 'terrorism' means...

I guess it depends which group of 'fundamentalists' you think attacked on 9/11... Al Quaeda or PNAC... (or some blend of the two)

Well, there was a threat of terror, but not from Iraq, so Bush ignored that. He didn't want to believe that Osama bin Laden was a bigger threat to the U.S. than Saddam Hussein. The fundie Muslims attacked us because 1) they hate our policy of interference in the Middle East and 2) they hate all things modern and tolerance of others.

The U.S. invasion of Iraq hasn't created a threat, but exacerbated tensions in the region and made people even angrier at us. And now there is a threat in Iraq where there wasn't before.

The threat remains . Saddam's former top military aide wrote a book about the weapons of mass destruction - which the mainstream media seems to be ignoring - for political reasons . General George Hormuz Sada said he "wants to make it very clear to everybody in the world that we had the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq". His book talks about where they were stored & how they got rid of them .

There is a real and present hate towards the west and back towards the middle east. I can see no easy way out of this mess we've gotten caught up in. Keep searching for the light and peace, perhaps one day our children's children will know both.
