Is our relationship illegal , considering he is a minor and i am the adult ?
We live in Boston,Massachusetts. I am just curious because i have heard that other states have regulations or bans regarding relationships between minors and adults. I have been in America for only a few years. i need to know more about how things work here. Please educate me.

I wanted to add that I deeply love and care for this guy. He is really mature , very passionate, intelligent, and he cares a lot about me. Even if our relationship was illegal i wouldn't leave him for anything.

Thank god you are in Boston. It is ok there. Don't go to a stte where the age of consent is 18. I guess love is love. good luck.

I clicked on Massachusettes, and skimmed the law. They have a pretty conservative law. However, looking over the 'real world' evidence, I don't see a whole lot to be concerned about. I wouldn't flaunt the fact that you are sexually active, but it shouldn't be a huge deal.
The breaking point seems to be whether you are pressured into having sex. If there is any indication that your boyfriend used verbal means to pressure you, then it's illegal. Otherwise, you should be fine. However, if your parents disapprove, they could bring charges. Your boyfriend could be arrested. The conviction might not stand, depending on your testimony.
So....read the law and see what ya think....

it is illegal, and you can get in trouble if you are having sex with him.
