Back in the '50's there was a retired Marine Corps major named Keyhoe who was the originator of many of the theories that the UFO's were real and the government knew about alien contacts from outer space and was concealing that information from the public.
Keyhoe was interesting reading, but most of his stuff just doesn't stand up that well to scrutiny. I had an association with Project Bluebook back in the late '60's and know how UFO sightings were investigated. Had there been anything to them it would have been impossible to keep that quiet.
Some of the better sightings stories--especially Roswell, N.M.--may have been--in part at least--an out and out hoax.
Given the size of the Cosmos, I think it is entirely possible there could be intelligent life somewhere out there, but given the distances involved and the technology that would be required I think it somewhat unlikely that aliens have visited our planet.
If they had I don't think it would have been kept a secret from the public.

That the U.S. government planned and carried out the attack on the World Trade Center towers. I mean, do these conspiracy-theorists have any idea at all how many people would be involved and/or have knowledge of a plan of that scope? Yet not one single piece of indisputable evidence has ever been presented or discovered by any of them.

That all of the world leaders are shape-shifting reptiles; the "dragons" and "serpent Gods" of ages past. See "The Biggest Secret" or "Children of the Matrix" by David Icke. He makes a convincing case. I actually believed that stuff for a good year.

Y2K was definitely a crazy one. Sad thing is, I was little at the time and really believed it was going to happen.

How Canadian commemorative war veterans quarters contained tiny tracking devices!
The odd-looking coins were so unfamiliar to suspicious U.S. army contractors traveling in Canada that they filed confidential espionage accounts about them:
