i keep getting pop-ups that all start with CiD...
tell me its not that bad...
tell me how to rid of it...

#1: Do an online virus check using Housecall at Trend Micro
#2: don't you have a virus checker installed? If not, go buy one NOW '!!!
#3: if that happens and you don't have a virus or a trojan, then some company imbedded their website as your opening website when you boot Internet Explorer. Look for Tools, options... or preferences... One of those should bring up your settings for IE and you can set your opening page to something good... like www.google.com/

I believe I used to get CiD popups and they weren't very fun. I'd suggest you try to run some virus scans and anti-spyware scans to see if that will help you to fix your problem. If that doesn't, maybe even doing a System Restore to a time when there weren't any popups.
If that fails, then you may have to find a program or something that can block those popups.
Also, just so you know, Mozilla Firefox may be a better browser for you to use, as I believe it's safer than Internet Explorer. It can be downloaded for free from http://Mozilla.com.
