HI! I don't know the answers to your questions, however here is some other helpful information you might want when you do purchase them.

Do NOT fall for their scams about paying lots of extra monies for the delivery people to haul your old washer & dryer away! You can get this done for FREE from Montgomery County! Place to call is over where you take items to the dump off of Shady Grove and 355 Rds.

OR another way to get rid of the old ones is to post them on FreeCycle here in Yahoo! You'd be amazed how many folks out there might want to help you out by hauling them away for FREE too! People need parts or do repairs so you never know! Remember the old saying about 'one person's junk is another person's treasure?!'

Good luck!

If you are short of space the 2 in 1 is handy but my mam bought a washer/dryer, she had it for about a year and half and there was a fault with the washer part, it cost a fortune to get it fixed then last week it clapped out again the bearings are gone in it. The money she has spent on getting it fixed would have paid for a new washing machine. I reckon the separate ones are more economical in the long run.

i bought a washer dryer combined because it takes up less space and to be honest if you pick a machine that has a good spin speed you shouldn't have to use a tumble dryer that often

it's only one appliance to buy, one to fit and one to maintain

i know that people have said that the combined washer dryers - the dryer function is not as good as when they are separate but i find that mine works really well

mine is a hotpoint aquarius and it cost about £300 a year ago

if you are buying make sure you look on the internet because i managed to get mine for at least £50 less than at the electrical superstores

the way to do it is go round the superstores and find the one you like and see if you can better the price on the internet

Buy separate machines. If one develops a fault you still have the other. Washer driers clean the clothes fine but are not so efficient at drying. Compare the size of a washing machine drum with that of a drier drum. If you fill the washing machine then it goes to a drier cycle there's little room for the air to get around the clothes to dry them. This is inefficient. However if space is at a premium and you only use the drier occasionally then perhaps you'd cope with a washer drier. Think about how you use the machine

Well the pro is that it saves space but we have one in our London place for that reason but we hardly ever use the dryer because the load the dryer takes is only half that the washer takes so when it has finished washing you either have to take half the load out or only put half a machine load in to wash in the first place. If you have the space get two machines

ive got a washer dryer. the dryer stopped drying so i got a man in to fix it. it worked a few times then stopped again. the dryer fixer said sorry it was ok when i left . i had to buy another dryer. i think its best to buy separate if you can.

I have only known 2 people who have had a combined washer/dryer and they are bloody useless

It must depend in part on how much space you have? If that's not a problem then I would not combine them because it makes for a complicated bit of kit that's going to go wrong and be expensive to fix. Also, I don't think a good combined unit is necessarily cheaper than two separate ones.

If you mean one of the units stacked one above the other, like the Kenmore Laundry Center, it uses less floor space but it stands taller. If you have cupboards above your washer, then it might not fit. The nice thing is haveing extra room beside the laundry center for mops, buckets, laundry hamper/basket etc.

We have a laundry center at both our home and lake place. We like them.

g-day!

I would suggest separate machines as an all in one is likely to be a compromise. That is what the launderette uses.
