If you know of a new series on the market now or coming before Christmas, that would be great. I'm familiar with older series and books.

While some of the books listed below have been out awhile I thought I should mention them since they have new books coming out and they would be great for a 8 year old girl.

There's a series of books about fairies called "Rainbow Magic" by Daisy Meadows published by Scholastic. Some of them have been out for a while, but there are new ones coming out regularly, including a Christmas one due out soon: http://www.amazon.com/Holly-Christmas-Fairy-Rainbow-Magic/dp/043992880X/?tag=24680e-20

Also, there's a small series about a girl named Emma by Sally Warner that have only been out a year or two...you might want to check into them if you're not familiar with them.

"Clementine" by Sara Pennypacker is a newer book, and there's a sequel already called "The Talented Clementine," and a third book due out in January 2008. Here's a link to the first one: http://www.amazon.com/Clementine-Sara-Pennypacker/dp/0786838825/?tag=24680e-20

I hope that's helpful!
