The first night's cost and taxes are required at booking. At check in, they take an imprint of your credit card for "incidental" charges - like if you use the phone, etc.

I would call. The Flamingo charged $100 per day for credit cards, but only $50 per day if using a debit card. Most of the major hotels charge between $50 - $100 per day, so a three night stay would be a $300 hold on your credit card for incidentals. You can also put cash up (Caesars takes $200), but with that you cannot charge anything to your room.

Some hotels will immediately charge $100 to your credit card, upon check in-for in house charges. If you don;t spend the $100, they will do a credit return on checking out.

It's no different from any other hotel, you hand over a credit card to guarantee your charges and check in! If you don't have a credit card then I'm sure you will be asked to at least pay for your accommodation up front.
