Even if the Mariners and the Angels finish tied, I thought the Angels won the season series, so the Angels should win the AL West no matter what? How is it they haven't clinched yet technically?

That tiebreaker only applies when one wins the division and the other has the Wild Card. It doesn't apply to when they're playing for the division without the WC available. If they do tie, then they'd have to play a one game playoff (like both teams did in 1995).

Because Seattle is making it tough on them. The Mariners won't just let the Angles beat them for it. Los Angeles needs to beat someone else to win the AL West.It would be great if Seattle came back to win the division from them...again.

It's because they aren't leading the M's by enough wins or the Halos don't have enough wins.
