This is a pet hate of mines. I think if people take the time answering your question you can take a few minutes to pick a best answer

I have to say I agree with you! If it's just a general poll or an lighthearted question, I don't mind - but when you've really put the effort in to answer a serious question, it's a little annoying when they don't read it!

Although I should point out - I don't mind not getting a best answer! It's more that the person asks a serious question and can't be bothered to read the answers that gets to me!

I dont hate it, I try and get to all of mine but sometimes life takes over open questions

why do people think that you do not get your points back if your question goes into voting? You get 3 just the same as if you picked the answer yourself, I would rather pick it but I guess many people do not because they know they will get their points no matter what

I agree

But I also hate it when they ignore the genuinely good answers, and give it to some rubbish a friend has posted.

I've just resolved my last 2 and given BA to the only person who had answered after 18 hours, and in one of those he didn't even answer they question.

But at least he read it, and posted a reply that indicated he couldn't properly answer it.

It was about what would play on answerers MP3s if it was on Random Play ... and he honestly answered he was a techno dinosaur who didn't have one.

In fact, while I don't ask many questions, I have only even missed out on giving BA for one of mine, and that was because I didn't have time before I went away for a long weekend, and it expired while I was away.

Sometimes it is difficult to decide who has given the best answer, plus people might always pick people they know and are friends with rather than the best answer. I always read the everyone's answers - otherwise I wouldn't have bothered asking the question lol

I know!!! It bothers me. I think the person who wrote the question should pick the best answer! Sometimes my questions go into voting because I'm like an hour late, and I go crazy because it drives me mad because I had a best answer that I was planning to choose!!!! So I just vote for the answer.

On some questions yes but on others where people have just put yes or no or a really brief answer then I don't really see the point personally but on the more detailed questions then I totally agree with you although sometimes all the answers are really good so it's hard to choose.

I don't ask many questions but i do always pick a best answer but it doesn't worry me when people don't because then i also get a chance to read them all and vote for a best answer

I agree with you. Although some people put silly answers just for points, other people think their answers through and find links for you to check out. The least the asker can do it pick an answer, its not like they don't look at them and read them anyway. How rude!

Yes I also always chose a best answer and it is annoying when you take the time to give a detailed reply to a question only to discover that its in voting...Arrrgh lol.

But in the end they're losing out on getting three points back :)
