I'm like making neclaces out of beads that are sometimes complicated, but I'm not a professional jeweler. I saw some books at hobby lobby that had jewelery made from wire twisting and there were also some components-parts of rings, etc. I was wondering if there would be any way to try to make some sterling silver and maybe gold jewelry that is like that from James Avery. I added some links to James Avery Jewelry I am writing about.

(I really like this one above.)

Thank you very much!

You may want to check out Fire Mountain Gems website & catalogs for some tips. The best part of making jewelry is being creative. Have fun with it.

Learning silversmithing is the best way to go. Short of that, precious metal clay technique is the best. You can look it up on the internet as such or under PMC. This is a clay made primarily of precious metal that you can shape with your hands, burn in a kiln and then finish as you want.

You can go to school to learn it, or you could maybe get a job in a jewelry store that does its own designs, and learn on the job.
