I find that people will find excuses (ex birth control pills) for weight gain. Yes, it's probably normal to gain 5lbs, but anything more than that is their own fault. I too blamed birth control pills, but you know what? I was in a new relationship when I started the pills (new relationships = eating out more). Over the years, I kept blaming those damn pills... until I really took a look at myself and my eating habits. Since January, I've lost 35 lbs. So to answer your question, no, they don't prohibit weight loss.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Yes, it can be extremely difficult to lose weight while on birth control. Some pills also make you gain weight,

Yes. My sister took the pills and the depo shot and ballooned up to 300+ pounds and she was at a moderate 220 lbs. To this day (she's 30 y/o) its hard for her to lose weight. Thats why I don't recommend birth control anything.

I haven't gained weight on Kariva.
I am losing weight, slowly. For me it is more crappy eating habits rather than what contraceptive I am on.
