The few women that I know who have had an abortion feel guilty and will never be able to forgive themselves. They think about it alot, even 10 years after.

Abortion should not be used as birth control. Although I am strongly against abortion, I still believe every woman should have a choice (as long as the abortion is performed very early). If the choice is taken away, then women may go to underground clinics, the blackmarket for abortion pills, or attempt to do one themselves.

There are so many programs to help women who don't want to keep their baby. Adoption is the most beautiful gift, and selfless act on the woman's part. I believe it's wrong, but not necessarily comparable to murder (like criminal behavior).

I personally think an abortion is only justified if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest; but that's my opinion and I don't expect everyone else in the world to live by my standards. Only God will judge her according to her choices and actions!

The short answer is that I don't think that the government, or anybone else for that matter, should have a right to tell me what I can and cannot do to MY body. I'm not saying that I would/wouldn't have an abortion, I'm just saying that NOBODY has a right to tell someone else what they have to do.

The long answer:
To me it seems as if the pro-life people stop caring about the child as soon as it is born. What about all the children in orphanages? Who is taking care of them? What about all the starving children in the US? Are you feeding them?

And what if you are raped? Even if you have the child and give it up for adoption, you still have to face those 9 months with a CONSTANT reminder of your rapist. How is that fair?! Rape is bad enough, let alone being forced to carry the child of the rapist, and then face the excruciating pain of birth (after you already had the pain of rape)?

Yes, all woman should hit their parents up for money because they got pregnant and that automatically makes your parents your baby's ATM. They should get their boyfriends to man up and take responsibility because all men are great guys that just want to do the right thing. They should also work and save up what little they make at Mc Donald's because that will be way more than enough money to support a baby. Do you not hear the sarcasm in this? I believe that a fetus is not a living human until it has a heartbeat. But it really doesn't matter what you or I believe it is a woman's decision if she wants to birth a child or not and it should remain that way. By the way I am pro-choice.

I think it's high time we started recognizing that this is NOT a decision for the public to agree on. It's a private health decision and life decision for a woman. When people say, "Just give it up for adoption," they seem to think pregnancy and childbirth is nothing. That's ignorant. No woman should have to foster something in her body for nine months because of someone else's values. Most other countries don't see this as an issue. It's just ridiculous that Americans are still treating women's bodies like property. It's not a baby, it's a woman's life.

I think each woman should decide for herself what she feels is the best solution for her. No one else - not pro-lifers and not the government. It is easy to respond to this saying "adoption is a choice" but how can anyone say what is best for another person? They are not in that situation and not facing the obstacles she may be. Every woman should be able to decide for herself what she believes is the best answer.

okay I see it as this if it was rape why would you want the child when ever you see him it would remeber you of that bad time. Also, if you dont have money to support a child why would you bring him out to the world we live in to suffer of hunger and maybe die of hunger or dieses.

look that is a very controversial conversation.
it can go either way.
all in all I'm not for or against it.
i personally would not do abortion.
but some people have to.
it is totally up to the person.
you cant just tell someone they can have an abortion.
it is against some religions to have an abortion.
and that is totally what they choose to do.
so as for me being for or against i would have to say it doesn't matter to me.
its their lives not mine.

i think it's more wrong to bring a child into the world you don't want or can't afford. no infant deserves to be neglected or abused. abortion is a necessary evil.

Abortion makes me mad. Yes it's the womans body but it is her childs life! I think the person is being very selfish if she is more concerned about her own body or whatever than her unborn child. If she's not ready for a baby then don't have sex!

I think abortion is necessary in today's world. Sometimes people make mistakes and aren't ready for a baby.
