Antimatter which is changed into matter as it expands.

for one the dude above me is completely wrong. anti matter is in our own unvierse, and when it comes in contact with normal matter they both annihalte each other causing a massive amount of energy to be released. so dont listen to him.

this is one of the most popular theories. basically its the the universe is 4 dimensional, its a hypersphere. so theres nothing beyond it, if you were to get in a shuttle and ride for billions of lightyears you would never reach the end, just end up on the other side of the universe. this explains it:

The big bang theory says that the primevil atom exploded and when it did that released so much raw energy that it actually created space and time. so the expansion of space would have to have a speed, because nothing is instantaneous thats quite impossible. so there has to be a point where space stops, and when space stops you cant go any further, there is nothing. thats different from there being no matter. having no space is like having 1 atom, but no where to put it.

so if there is a definate boundry to space then there has to be something beyond it, and there would have to be a spot you cant go any further, this is also impossible. because nothing can be beyond the limit of space because theres, obviously, no space. and there cant just be a wall that you hit and cant go any further, no credible scientist believes that. so what is the universe expanding into?

the only answer that allows all of that to be true is that the universe is 4 dimensional. so if you went in a shuttle forever in one direction you would never reach the end, you would just end up right back where you started (this is not a sphere, its a hypersphere which is a 4 dimensional sphere. if it were a sphere there would have to be something outside of it).

a good example of a 4 dimensional object like this (its not really 4 dimensional, but its has a property of 4 dimensional objects, it doesnt have an end) is a mobius strip.
take a piece of paper and cut and inch long strip, then twist it 180 degrees (so it looks like DNA does) and then tape the 2 ends together. you can now take a pencil or pen and start at the taped end end draw a line one direction. you will draw the line on both sides and end up back where you started.

if that was to confusing im sure you can go on google and type in mobius strip and it will tell you how to make it.

I hope that helped you.

First answerer is correct, according to the big bang theory, it is creating space as it expands, that is the beauty of the big bang theory. No one knows for 100% certainty the the big bang theory is true, but it makes a lot of sense according to the evidence scientists have found about the objects in the universe speeding away from each other.
No one knows what's on the other side of the expansion. Many scientists believe there is nothing not even space, the space (yes empty space) is actually being created as it expands. This theory (even though it's hard for the human mind to wrap it's head around it) seems to be the only solution. The only other thing is the universe is infinite and goes on forever with no end, but the evidence does not seem to point to that.

cbirch92 give a long, detailed explanation, that is unsatisfactory. When science discovered that the galaxies were rushing away from each other, the idea of the big bang came into being. They plotted the movements of the galaxies back into time until they came to a point where all the laws of physics broke down, this was a point in time called the singularity, it was 10-43 seconds, this singularity was a point with no radius, and it was pure energy, even Einstein's famous equation, E=MC2 had no meaning here because there was no matter. The point is, the universe had to have a boundary if it was all tracked back to that point in time. Science refuses to recognize such a thing as a void, but sheer logic dictates that if there is no void, there must be other universes out there.

into the oblivion. until we all dissappear. we all perish. Why? because we cant give up what we think we know. The one truth is so simple!!!!!So simple, humans will never get it. it will hurt their egos too much. Sad. You know why? Someone is trying to raise our human conciousness to a higher level, pushing everything back. But noone gets it. no one gets it. Watch! our planet will turn into a black hole. its already happening! notice the lights. the lights in your home at night, It isnt constant. it dims and brightens. check out the shadows on any objects that is casted on the wall, the shadows now moves. this is because light is bent. !!! That Entity needs to be on the top of the pyramid, so it can serve the universe. if not, this enlightment, this quasar that serves the source, instead of illuminating, itll suck up the light. So........ Youself is
already been programed not to believe this. You know Why? So that this entity, if not successfull, will not be guilty. no matter what, the servant goes back to the one its serving to, successful or not. And its trying.

The universe is constantly expanding into a place that may one day offer another world for humans to inhabit and destroy.

It is expanding into the cosmos. The second law of thermodynamics states that all systems move toward a maximum of disorder.
