As others have said you need a Ps1 memory card to save Ps1 games, though there is a trick where you can transfer data from a PS1 card to a PS2 card, let's you store more, though you cant play it while it is on the PS2 card, but rather than buying say 9 PS1 cards, you can just use a Ps1 and PS2 card for the same amount of space.

But you can fit a PS1 card in a PS2 console. You can only save PS1 games to PS1 cards and PS2 games to PS2 cards.

well you can play ps1 games but the card wont save it, no a ps1 card wont fit in a ps2 card slot

yes you can but when you play it again it seams to crash alot me i've only got about 8 playstation 1 memory cards an about 8 playstation 2 ones an i cant use any of them at moment because my 2 is broke an ive lost my power adapter for my playstation 1
