I have had someone ask but general. Nobody ever seriously asked. Like if they picked up the purse and it was heavy he would say what do you have in there. Most guys dont really care what is in the purse.

I have had men ask to look in my purse, and have also caught a male co-worker going through my purse when he thought I was in another area of the building.
I opened my purse and showed them what was in it...I am not uptight about this. For the guy who I caught going through my purse, I asked him if I could help him find something. Needless to say, he was embarrassed and mumbled something about looking for a pen...

Twice I've had to open my purse to men - once for airport security, and another in a court house, and it didn't bother me either time. My husband goes through my purse for the car keys or a few bucks, never to snoop but he always let's me know.

My mother carried a purse so big it frightened men. It was strictly off limits. I snuck into it one night and she, being a good Army wife, had an actual full-size wind-up Big Ben alarm clock in there, a full-size screw driver, a package of water-proof matches, some C-Rations, a Bowie knife, a filled crystal glass salt shaker, a sewing kit, $5000 in one hundred dollar bills, four tubes of lipstick and other assorted make-up, her diaphram in its compact, the entire collection of letters from her mother tied with an old yellow ribbon, a first aid kit with glass thermometer and sulfa packets, a medium-sized photo album, an address book held together with a huge rubberband, a full-sized roll of duct tape, a large magnifying glass, the family's passports and papers, her marriage certificate, the family's birth certificates, and a loaded Deringer pistol. I think it is wise for men to stay out of lady's purses. : )

Yes, I actually did. He said, if I had a new quarter he would
give me a dollar. I had the quarter, but I didn't take his dollar.
He just wanted to see what I had in my purse. I keep a very
neat purse...probably spoiled his fun?

Not personally, only for security guards at the airport ect.
Doesnt really phase me tbh. What would a man want with my keys, makeup, hairpins, my phone, a bit of money and a tampon or two?
