The question is when to choose to be each. It's better to conform to laws like "don't murder people". Most people would agree to conform to that, as it is a pretty good rule to conform to. However, conforming to peer pressure... Nuh-uh. Not good. Be non-conformist.

Don't be a conformist. But if you do what I tell you to, aren't you conforming to what I say?

If society is ever gonna grow, everybody must always be ready to criticize a custom. This is not non-conformism for the sake of not conforming. As Nietzsche said, don't tell me about what you are free from. Tell me what you are free for.

Well, really either of those is just as bad as the other.

The best thing to be is completely immune to the customs, rules, or styles of a group.

Be neutrally-conformist and do your own thing... whether it is what the group is doing or not.

That all depends on the group. Conforming to the values and rules of criminals or addicts does seem helpful, so non-conformity would be great. However, conforming to the general greed and selfishness is not to my benefit either, so again non-conformity.

Being a true non-comformist is much better. Being part of a group that says they are non-comformist isn't.
You know, there's groups of people, ages 12-early 20s who all dress, act, and think the same, and call themselves non-comformist, because they conform to a different group than most other people.
Truly thinking for yourself is always best. Don't let the insecurities and shortcomings of other people hinder you, and don't do things you don't want to because they think you should.

There isn't a difference.

Conformity is abiding by conventions. Non-conformity is refusing to abide by conventions. However, even if you refuse, you are still allowing those conventions to determine your behavior, albeit in an indirect way.

If you believe you are a non-conformist, you are conforming.

It's better to be non-conformist because you can learn more from the experience. There's a lot more pain involved, but it's totally worth it.

What beliefs keeps you satisfied with your own self are enough for you, and if you want confirmations from others it means their is something still lacking in your belief system, better try to through some more light on yourself so you can discover it , use the candle of love, make some more inner search.
