I'm just getting into football, and so far I hardly know anything about it, so someone school me. What are the dos and don'ts of football? Is it like NBA where you have to play a certain amount of games (82 games in the NBA) to get to football playoffs? And what are the best football teams out right now?

Watch the game on tv and learn is the best advice. The season is 16 games long and basically the top 6 teams(12 total) from each Conference make the playoffs. All formations are 11 players per side be it offense/defense/specials teams. TD's(touchdown) are worth 6 points, extra point after a TD by kick, field goal kicks are 3 points regardless of distance. Each team gets 4 tries on offense to get a 1st down or touchdown, the field is 100 yards long so a team could get 9 1st downs before reaching end zone (scoring portion of field). It's a very complicated game, so keep watching and learning...too much to list here.
